ABUBAKAR TATARI ALI POLYTECHNIC SACKS TWO LECTURERS FOR RAPING THEIR STUDENTS.
The governing council of Bauchi state polytechnic has laid off two of their lecturers at their 98th sitting held yesterday 24th of October for sexually harassing their student.
The two lecturers know as Musa Baba Abubakar and Adebusoye Micheal Sunday of general studies department and nutrition department respectively.
Human rights Organisation has written a letter of complaint to the polytechnic through the attorney general and commissioner for Justice and signed by the director for public prosecution Japhet Ikita that the management of the polytechnic has been covering up for Baba who is a serial rapist and harasser of female student without making it public for prosecution.
The letter was sent October 17.
He said that the lecturer was caught by the Rector while defiling a 17years old student. There have been several complaint from the student that Baba intimidate them and then harass them sexually.
It was stated that Baba was not ready to stop unless extra force is used. When he was caught, his colleagues apologized on his behalf to the school management.
Ikita quote Baba victim by saying “he held a knife and told me that if I don’t allow him, he’s going to injure me.He came close to me and tore my clothe. When he finished, there was blood because that was my first time”
The lady said she reported to the head of department of Mass communication in words and was directed to put it in writing and nothing was done about it till date.
The Rector denied the fact that the polytechnic covered up for them and was also suprised that it was only Baba name that was in the media and that the Media is silent about the other person.
At the meeting held yesterday, the Rector said that the polytechnic has finally dismissed the two lecturers and submitted their letter of dismissal to the Dss who assisted the polytechnic on the matter for subsequent delivery to them.
