51,000 residents enrol in Nasarawa Health Insurance Scheme

About 51,000 people have enrolled for nassarawa state health insurance policy. This includes the Alimagiris children, orphans and the aged.

The executive secretary of Nassarawa state health insurance agency made this known while speaking to the state to the news agency said “We enrolled all the orphanages in Nasarawa State. They are in the health insurance scheme which was sponsored by the state government because of the good heart of Governor Abdullahi Sule. We also enrolled almajiri children in the state. As of today, we have enrolled about 51,000 persons but not all of them have had their premium paid. We have some of them whose premium was paid by the federal government while others had theirs paid by the state government and some NGOs.”

Punch metro correspondent reported that the organized labour in the state had recently agreed that monthly deductions of 3% of workers’ basic salaries and 1% of pensioners’ benefits should commence without delay and be remitted to the agency to enable these categories of persons to access health services under the state health insurance scheme.
